Google’s latest change is confusing rank tracking, here’s what it means
If your rankings look different this week, here’s why
Google has quietly made a change to search results: they’re removing the option to view 100 results per page.
Most of the time, when you searched with &num=100
at the end of the URL, you’d get a long list of results. Now, it only works sometimes, and in many cases, it doesn’t work at all.

Why does this matter?
For most people searching on Google, it doesn’t. But for SEO tracking tools, it’s a big deal.
Tools used to be able to check the top 100 positions for a keyword.
Now, they can usually only see the top 10.
That means rankings that sit on page 2 or beyond may appear to “disappear” in reports.
What you might notice
Reports showing fewer keywords than before
Sudden ranking drops that aren’t real
More noise in your SEO data over the next few weeks
What to do about it
The important thing: don’t panic. Your site hasn’t suddenly fallen off the map. This is mostly a reporting issue, not a ranking issue.
We’re keeping a close eye on how tools adapt to this change and making adjustments so you continue to get the most accurate picture possible.
Bottom line: If your reports look off this week, it’s likely due to this Google change. Want clarity on what’s really happening with your rankings? Reach out to our team by replying to this newsletter, and we will answer any questions.
